First Team Green Junior Superstock rider
Ensuring their support for racing’s so-called “feeder” classes, Kawasaki has an ambitious Team Green Junior Superstock support package for 2010.
As the primary recognised route to a competitive Supersport, or even Superbike ride, the Junior Superstock Championship is one of the hardest fought and most watched at BSB rounds across the UK.
Increasing their interest in the class which is based on 600cc road going machines, Kawasaki Motors will run its support package under the famous Team Green banner for the coming season.
Current MRO Formula 400 Champion on a Kawasaki ZXR400, 16 year old Danny Buchan started his racing career like so many on a Kawasaki motocross bike at the tender age of seven.
Winning every round of the 2009 Formula 400 Championship and setting fastest laps and pole position at each round, Buchan won the series by a huge margin. He has set his sights on the BSB Junior Superstock Championship for the coming season with an impressive 11th place as a wild card rider at Brands Hatch.
Along with Danny, a carefully selected number of riders will compete in the Championship as part of the Team Green racing programme in 2010. Each will ride a Ninja ZX-6R which will be supplied at a special price and will include such items as a spare set of wheels for mounting alternative race tyres on.
In addition, all riders will wear bespoke Gimoto leathers and benefit from the support of Arrow exhausts, Renthal chain wheels, Tsubaki chains via B&C Express and an initial machine build and set up from either MSS Kawasaki or Gearlink Kawasaki. Other race parts such as Ohlins suspension components, Valtermoto rearset footrests and Goodridge braided brake hoses are also part of the comprehensive package.
Commenting on the prospect of racing as part of Kawasaki Team Green in Junior Superstock, Buchan is obviously relishing the prospect saying:
“The Ninja ZX-6R is one of the best looking bikes in the paddock and in the new Team Green Junior Superstock paint scheme it looks awesome. I think my MRO Championship win this year stands me in good stead for my ambition to be a top ten contender in 2010. I’m certainly going to give it everything I’ve got and hope to develop my race craft even further in the coming year.”
Ross Burridge, Racing Coordinator for Kawasaki Motors UK sees Buchan as important in a number of ways as he explained:
An unprecedented range of promtions on our machines including the Versys now added to 3 years 0% finance.
Facebook site re-launch for Kawasaki
With an established Twitter presence, Kawasaki Motors UK launched a Facebook fan page earlier in 2010 to meet the demands of Kawasaki fans in the social networking environment.
